Jura wine
Although the Jura vineyards
cover one of the smallest surface areas in France (1,850 ha), the wine
produced is nevertheless one of the most original by the diversity of
its production and the typicality of its aromatic selection.
The reds, the rosés tinted with ruby but above all the whites with
their particular flavour are found at all the great gastronomic tables.
The Jura vineyards have six AOC (certifying origin),
of which Château Chalon is one; indeed, it was one of the first
wine - growing communes in France to receive this accolade.
The Vin
Jaune (yellow wine) was born on the slopes of this
delightful village and has become the pride of all the natives of the
Jura and the region's ambassador.
