jura mountain
The south-east part of the Jura
is the highest with medium mountain. The mountain
range is 1,500 m at its highest point and is made up of sharp reliefs
notched with valleys, coombs, lakes and majestic gorges. With its grandiose
views, spellbinding forests and sparkling snow, it's paradise for all
enthusiasts of cross
country skiing, competitive
mountain biking and organised
rambles on foot.
To the north the terrain softens as the rivers quieten down and the fresher
green of the deciduous trees speckles the dark green of the firs. Vineyards
carpet the golden hills of Revermont. Oak groves take the place of the
Bresse farmland spangled with lakes and criss-crossed by bashful streams.
It's a Jura marked with poetry and softness which stretches
towards the west to meet its neighbour, Burgundy.
